GyneLase: two uses of CO₂ laser

Understanding the technology means distinguishing its surgical role from fractional application to the vaginal lining.

Our GyneLase equipment

Askabide uses GyneLase, the INTERmedic CO₂ laser system. Its applicators support vulvovaginal surgical use and fractional application. The gynaecology team selects the mode according to the procedure and each patient’s assessment.

As a surgical instrument

In selected minor procedures, laser is used for cutting and coagulating small vessels. This is its role in laser labiaplasty. Closure is adapted to the tissue and may require sutures, with aftercare appropriate to the operation.

As fractional vaginal treatment

Energy is distributed over small points in the lining to produce a thermal tissue response. This differs from surgical reconstruction. Its value is assessed for the presenting concern, with variable results and benefits not yet established for some indications. See the information on vaginal laser treatment.

Part of our gynaecological care

Laser is integrated into gynaecological care and the minor surgical procedures performed at Askabide. The technique, anaesthesia where needed and follow-up are agreed before treatment, according to the assessment and each clinic’s authorised activity.

Your questions answered

At the consultation, we discuss why laser is proposed, other options, what the procedure involves and the care you will need. We also explain possible effects and risks, the quotation and follow-up so you can make a considered decision.
